Simple Banner Creation

Making advertising banners for the web does not have to be difficult. Actually, banners like the examples below work better than most traditional banners. Perhaps it's because they don't look like banners at all...

mklvbox2.gif (3000 bytes)   mklvbox4.gif (2782 bytes)   mklvbox6.gif (2987 bytes)

mklv1.gif (2205 bytes)

mklv11.gif (3786 bytes)

Here's how I design banners like these in seconds...

1. Open Frontpage Editor program and start a new webpage. (You can use any WYSIWYG web page editor.)

2. Insert a small table, type text in the table and insert images if desired. (If you have no idea how to create tables in your web design program, make your table with this simple web-based table-maker.)

3. Preview the page as a real, live web page. (In MS FrontPage this is as simple as clicking the preview tab.)

4. Finally, open the low-cost utility called ScreenPrint32, capture the area that will be the actual banner and save it!

Note: By changing the background color you can make banners with different color borders. Simply "snag" the table you created, just outside the borders so that some of the background color is captured too. Play with your table properties and be creative!

Once the final image is saved as a .gif or .jpeg file with ScreenPrint32, it can be inserted into any web pages and linked to whatever site you wish.
